Romantic Gifts For Valentines Day

After about a million failed and/or backfired extravagant plans for valentines day which involved my kids running for cover to escape my temper tantrums and my other wise red neck husband being reduced to a timid man saying ‘Yes Dear’ for half of February, I’ve decided to take it a bit calmer on my nerves. Any and all Valentines Day plans will revolve around valentines dinner, which I will cook at home. My husband and I will buy each other one gift with the stipulation that I had better like what I get or hell will be raised.

We take the kids to see an early movie and then I drop them off at my mother who hasn’t had any plans for Valentines Day since my parents divorced. Then I set to slaving over the stove to make the perfect valentines dinner for the two of us. Personally I think it keeps the Valentines shopping and spending reasonable and my husband doesn’t wreck the house in his attempts at creating a nice romantic atmosphere (complete with a snow machine). I usually get a gift like Valentines Day chocolate or Valentines heart candy which I think is okay but far from being original or romantic. My husband doesn’t get that I like romantic gifts for Valentines Day; he just thinks pink and chocolate should do the trick. He does have strokes of genius occasionally, like the year he bought me a fruit bouquet on Valentines Day. It was absolutely gorgeous and delicious. The fruit was covered in chocolate and there was pineapple cut into heart shapes. I just loved it! It was one of the few memorable valentines day gifts that I would love to see repeated.

Romantic Gifts For My Boyfriend

When I was growing up I was one of those crazy giggly girls who went nuts over anything pink and Valentines Day was like someone had rocketed me to heaven. Everything turned pink and red and stores were full of cuddly little teddy bears. When I was five I would go crazy making heart shaped valentine cards for just about every person I knew, the kids in my class, my whole family and everyone on my block!

Naturally when I grew up my madness for Valentines Day only increased. Being a grown up I had more stuff to look forward to on Valentines Day like valentines dinner, valentines shopping and getting romantic gifts for my boyfriend. I loved the whole romantic gift buying process because it always means a gift that I can share with my boyfriend. We usually have valentines dinner at home and being the guy and all, my boyfriend brings the dessert; a box of chocolates and I’m always excited to see what kind of chocolates I get. Sometimes, if my boyfriend remembers to plan ahead for valentines day, his valentines day gifts are really great and romantic. Like last year, I was so excited about valentines day that I wouldn’t shut up about our plans so he couldn’t really forget it was coming and naturally began searching for unique valentines day gift baskets for me. What he got me is proof that with just a little advance planning, anyone can buy a super romantic gift. He got me a fruit bouquet. It had pineapple hearts and strawberries dipped in chocolate and it came with a little plush bear. I just loved it! It had fruit and chocolate and looked like it was heaven sent for Valentines Day, plus there was the added fact that we could both enjoy it together. I personally think every girl should get a fruit bouquet at least on Valentines Day. I’m pushing to see if I can get another one this year and maybe on my birthday too.
